Fresh Roasted Whole Bean Coffee Supply from Vecinos

coffeeWe buy our coffee from sources that are “Above Fair Trade”.  What are “Above Fair Trade” coffees?

  • Companies that are large enough to ship & market in the the US.
  • Companies that have family in the US that import and market their families green coffee in the US market.
  • Coop farmers that band together to import and market their coffee
    • Eg. Thrive farmer
  • Missional importers who visit farms and are moved to help the farmer by bringing coffee to market with the primary goal to help farmers and take little to no salary for themselves.
    • Eg. Kepeh  Utz
    • Dominion Coffee
    • Passionate Harvest
  • Direct relationship where roasters go to country of origin to relate directly to farmers and purchase the coffee directly from the farmer.

All the above trade routes give the farmer more for the coffee by eliminating the importer.  This is also more than they would receive from “Fair Trade”.
